Insurance Claim Adjuster

Three Tips for Working with an Insurance Claim Adjuster

So, you have been involved in an automobile accident or you had damage to your house or other property. If so, you will likely find that you are working with an insurance claim adjuster. The claim adjuster is someone who comes to the scene of the incident and takes note on the case. Then, they work to find a fair sum that you will be paid from the insurance company. So, if you find yourself working with a claims adjuster, what should you do? Here are a few tips that may help.

* Keep Good Records - For everything having to do with your case, it is vital that you keep good records. If you can provide your own documentation to the adjuster, you will be ahead of the game. Plus, if there is an issue later, you’ll have back up info.

* Stay in Touch - If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out directly to the adjuster. He or she will usually be happy to work with you and help you understand the process. Just remember, however, the adjuster that the insurance company sends ultimately works for the insurance firm and may not always have your best interests in mind.

* Don’t Give Away Too Much - Once again, the adjuster working for the insurance company is NOT on your side. So, make sure you are not giving away too much information. He or she may use your words against you if it ever becomes necessary.
